We lost Outlaw very
suddenly just before show season last year and what a loss it was. I still
miss this big gentle giant and each time I look at his beautiful daughters
I miss him more. Outlaw didn't come to us until he was a 2 year old and we
only had him a few precious years. He was in ill health when we purchased
him and it took a lot of love and medical skill to return him to health.
We were always told he might not live a long life but we didn't expect to
lose him so soon or so suddenly.Outlaw was
a big boy...tall and extremely sharp at his withers, with beautiful dairy
type throughout. He was wide in his chest floor, deep in the rib and stood
on a beautiful set of legs and feet. He was a long, level buck with a
beautiful level rump. And most of all he was a gentle giant....always
ready for a hug no matter what.
His first daughter, Kricket, freshened last year with
an amazing mammary. She was the only daughter from the first year of
breeding and she quickly earned her 1st two legs the first time out. She
produced over 3200# in her first lactation. This year we freshened 3 more
Outlaw daughters and were again amazed at the beautiful udders they all
had. Kricket finished her GCH this year and appraised EX-90. The
yearlings, Caramel Swirl, Charlotte and Josie all showed extremely well
and appraised 88, 87 and 85 respectively. The appraiser commented on how
high he made the scores and what lovely does they were. The last Outlaw
daughter, Cassie, was a dry yearling this year and was GCH Jr. Doe and
BJDIS her first time out. We can't wait to freshen her next spring.
Outlaw made a huge impact in our herd in the short
time he was with us. I only wish he could have been here longer. We
miss you so much, big guy!!
