Sales info

Thanks so much for your interest in our LaMancha herd. We have tried to include all pertinent information on each doe but if you have any questions or need additional information, please don't hesitate to give us a call.  A health certificate (certificate of veterinary inspection is usually $50)  as well as any additional health tests and shipping costs including a carrier are the responsibility of the buyer and must be paid in full prior to shipping. If you are taking the animal across state lines out of Wisconsin, state law requires that they be accompanied by a health certificate. We charge an additional $50 delivery fee to the airport as we ship out of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport which is a 7+ hour round trip.

Kids are raised on a strict CAE-prevention program and have been since 1988. Our herd was tested negative for CAE in the past but we will continue to raise our kids on heat-treated colostrum and pasteurized goat's milk.

Kids receive free choice alfalfa-mix hay and water as well as a starter grain with a coccidiastat in it. We are on a regular vaccination program using Triangle 9 as well as Essential 3+T and Case-Bac vaccines. Animals receive annual BoSe shots and are wormed as needed. We feed a 17% mixed grain ration to the milking herd. Free choice salt and minerals are available to all.

2011 was a good year for our herd. We were very pleased with the way the herd settled into their new barn on our new farm and we started kidding in early December and finally finished up in mid-May. We had planned early on to attend the ADGA National Show in Springfield, MA so made the decision to limit our local showing. To that end we exhibited at an early quad ring buck show, our own summer club show and will again be attending a fall show. We also decided to skip appraisal this year and look forward to appraising again next year. Our plans were quickly changed when we picked up ringworm at our early summer show and our trip to Nationals was put on hold until 2012. We look forward to heading out to Colorado for the 2012 show.

At our first show of the season, a quad ring buck show, we were extremely pleased when Phoenix was 4X 1st place 2 year old, 3X Sr. & GCH Buck, 1X Res. Sr. & RGCH and 3X BBOB. At that same show Mooney was 1X RGCH and Act was 2X RGCH. We also had junior champion in 3 out of 4 rings. Phoenix finished his championship at this show.

A month later we attended our club's early summer show and were thrilled with the results. We had the GCH Jr.  (Cookie), RGCH Jr. (Valentine), GCH Sr Doe (Caramel)., BOB, BUOB & BUIS (Kricket), RGCH Sr. (Kaity), GCH & BBOB (White Knight) and RGCH Buck (Act) in Ring 1 which was also the District 4 LaMancha Specialty. In Ring 2 we had the GCH Jr.  (Valentine), RGCH Jr. (Shimmer), GCH Sr Doe (Caramel--finishing her championship),  BOB/BUOB (Kricket), RGCH Sr. (Kaity), , GCH Buck & BBOB (White Knight) and RGCH Buck (Act).

Our fall show, held in late September, also turned out to be a great success for our herd. We were absolutely thrilled when our aged doe, MacKenzie was named GCH Senior doe and BOB in Ring 1, finishing her championship!! After that win, the rest was just icing on the cake!! We also had the GCH Jr. and BJDIS (Cookie), RGCH Jr. (Patti) in Ring 1. In Ring 2, Kricket was GCH Sr. Doe, BOB and BUOB and MacKenna, in her first show out was RGCH Jr. doe.

One of our great thrills in 2010 was in the area of milk production. Three years of having our own home-grown top quality hay has finally paid off. We were ecstatic when the 2009 ADGA Breed Leader list was released in early September to find that we had 5 does on the Top Ten list including the #1 doe for Milk and Protein with SG Raintree Calypso Charmed (also #4 Butterfat) and the #1 doe for Butterfat with SGCH Raintree Eros Coco (also #3 Milk; #5 Protein). Other does on the Top Ten list included SG Raintree Calypso Prue (#5 Milk; #9 Protein) , SG Raintree Calypso MacKenzie (#7 Butterfat)  and GCH Raintree OL Kricket (#9 Milk; #8 Butterfat). The release of the 2010 Breed Leader list again had three of our does listed. SG Raintree Calypso Charmed was again #6 for Milk and #5 for Protein, SGCH Raintree OL Kricket was #4 for Fat and #6 for Protein and SG Calico-Fields FS Snowflake was #8 for Fat and #9 for Protein. All of the 2010 Breed leaders were polled does.

We ask for a $100 deposit to reserve kids. This is non-refundable if you cancel your order. If the kid you have chosen is not born or is not acceptable for us to sell, we will refund your deposit or allow you to choose another kid. While we will accept a deposit on a buck kid out of a first freshener, we will make the final decision on that sale after the doe has freshened. We will contact you as soon as possible after your kid is born and prefer that you pick it up or make arrangements for shipping within one month, unless prior arrangements have been made. If you plan to have your kid shipped by air, please make arrangements to send a 300 or 400 airline approved carrier as soon as you are notified. The balance of the payment is expected within 2 weeks after the birth of the kid or it will be offered to someone else. We prefer your final payment is made by money order or cash. Please indicate a 2nd and 3rd choice kid when you send your deposit. If you anticipate longer than a 4 week wait to pick up your animal, it must be paid in full and boarding will be charged after 4 weeks.

As always we reserve the right to retain any kid born on the farm.  We also reserve the right to refuse to sell any animal on the farm if we feel it is not in their best interest. Our goal is to provide a caring and safe home when we sell animals and we will not sell to anyone we feel cannot provide the care that our animals are used to receiving. If we do not feel we can provide an animal to suit your needs we will gladly and promptly refund your deposit. No sale is considered complete and binding until full payment is made and the new owner receives a transfer of ownership and bill of sale.

We normally plan to retain a first kid out of the majority of our does unless we are contacted about them. Please feel free to email us if you see a particular kid you want. Prices for kids are listed on each doe's page . We will not be taking deposits on doe kids for 2012. Available kids will be posted on our For Sale page and also on our Facebook page. Buck kids will only be retained if pre-ordered so please contact us early.
