| When we started looking
for some new genetics to add to our herd this fall, we looked to the
Barnowl and Tempo herds in the Pacific Northwest. Both of these herds have
lovely animals that are consistent show winners in strong western
competition. We had seen the sire of this young buck at a local show this
summer and were impressed by his size, depth of body, spring of rib and
very correct feet and legs so we jumped at the chance to bring those
genetics into our herd. On top of that how could we resist the outstanding
genetics. Oz is out of the beautiful Barnowl Buffy doe. His granddam is
SGCH Barnowl Bewitched, who was 2nd place at Nationals in 2005, 2006 and
2007. His paternal granddam is SGCH Kickapoo-Valley Respect Sequel, 2006
National Champion. Sequel is out of the tremendous SGCH South-Fork Mystic
Charm. What depth of pedigree this buck has! Eldridge is out of the lovely Tempo Elena doe in the Barnowl herd. Elena was in the Top Ten at Nationals 2005 - 2007. She is out of the beautiful, powerful Tempo Katya doe who we have long admired for her body capacity and power. On her sire's side, Elena has some impressive genetics including Hogg's-Hideaway Chimera, 1994 & 1996 National Champion; One*Oak*Hill Mac TumbleWeed, One*Oak*Hill Payne Talpa among others. Eldridge joined our herd in early October and we can't wait to see his kids this coming spring. He will be used on several of our best does this season. |
