We were so thrilled when we were able to bring Sky
into the herd as a dry yearling. Her dam, Frosty, is a daughter of my favorite doe,
Caramel, and parting with her was extremely hard for me, so it was very
exciting to bring her and her full brother, Heart, back home again.
Sky excels in general appearance...she's smoothly
blended and level throughout, standing on outstanding feet and legs. She
also has tremendous body capacity and width of chest and escutcheon.
Sky is easily my favorite of all the 2 year olds
and, with an outstanding group of 2 year olds, that's saying a lot.
Calm, easy going, she was the last doe to kid this spring and she
freshened with a stunning mammary. She has a high, wide rear udder
attachment and a long, smoothly attached fore udder. She is extremely
level over her topline and smoothly blended throughout. An easy keeper,
Sky was a bit "fluffy" when she kidded and her first show was only 3
weeks after kidding so she was pretty much overlooked with only one
judge seeing the beauty under some of the baby fat. Time and her
excellent production as a first freshener has slimmed her down and we
look forward to showing her this fall.
A 2nd freshening and twins helped this doe to slim
down a bit. Her udder was really gorgeous when she kidded this spring.
Her added udder capacity as well has her high wide escutcheon and long
smooth fore make her one of our nicest young does.
Sky started this lactation out
with a horrendous kidding....triplet kids, all dead and decomposed. I
worried about whether she would even survive but it never even fazed
her...she never missed a meal! Sky's body capacity increased even more
this year and she has such a lovely, well attached mammary. We showed
her at the Iowa Spring Classic....and she did well at a big competitive
show. Her 2 year old daughter, Sunny, is a very promising doe with a
Sky will be bred to
March kids. Price
