We were thrilled when April
Hitch offered Brooke to us. Sharla was looking for a few foundation does
for her Experimental herd and Brooke fit that bill. She is a very
correct powerful doe that stands on outstanding feet and legs. Although
I'd like to improve her teat placement a bit, she has a very smoothly
attached fore udder and high, wide rear udder with lots of capacity and
milk. She stood well at the spring shows and we look forward to
freshening her again in 2023.
Brooke freshened with a beautiful set of triplets
and lots of milk but in an effort to keep our labor load and
ourExperimental numbers down, we sold her to a herd down south. Brooke
proved to be a "northern girl" as temperatures heated up this summer and
started to take a toll on her health and well-being. In August we made a
delivery trip to TN and the decision was made to bring her back into the
herd. She had started to lose weight and body capacity in the extreme
heat. She has settled back into the herd with no issues and seems
to be extremely happy and is eating well. We hope with time she will
regain that big, beautiful body that she has always had.
Brooke was bred to
Blazes for January kids. This is a repeat
breeding that produce Haven who was 3X GCH and 1X RGCH Junior doe at the
Mid-MN Classic. Does $600. |
