When Laurie approached me
asking if we wanted to purchase her remaining LaManchas, I was thrilled
but sad to see a breeder that I respect so very much getting out of the
breed. She has put so much into our industry and I am so lucky to have
so many of her lovely, productive does in our herd! I will be forever
grateful to her for entrusting these lovely animals to me!
Shoofly is an exciting coming 2 year old. She freshened beautifully as a
yearling milker with a socked on mammary and tremendous general
appearance. We are excited to watch her mature and can't wait to
get her in the show ring in 2024.
Shoofly's dam was a strong general appearance young doe in the Tempo
herd. Her maternal granddam is the lovely Tempo Rosemary doe that was
such a powerhouse with that lovely level topline and capacious mammary.
Shoofly's paternal granddam needs no introduction...SGCH Kastdemur's
Evian, the 2008 and 2009 National GCH and 2006 National RGCH! Her sire,
Tach Lach, is another great name in the LaMancha breed with multiple
SGCH and GCH daughters. Tach was a long, level large framed buck who
excelled in dairy strength. His daughters have all had impressive
mammary systems but their greatest strength was their consistency of
general appearance and there have been many outstanding Tach Lach get of
sires!
Shoofly was AI'd to both
Windysprings Monsoon and Goat-San Vito when we purchased her. To our
delight, the resulting buck-doe twins turned out to be sired by
Windysprings Monsoon!. Shoof has had an awkward year....she has milked
well and has a beautiful mammary but is still awkward on her rear legs
and lacks body capacity, both which we are hoping will develop as she
matures.
Shoof will be bred to Matteo for April kids.
