Thank you to Faith Hitch for
offering us one of her "keeper" kids out of her K experimental line!
I've always admired her beautiful line of Experimental does and secretly
coveted one of them so this was a huge win for me and my first foray
into experimentals in many, many years!
Kiss was a late kid...born in
May and is the perfect companion for our own Rone! Her dam, Girl Krush,
was a first freshener this year and shows the same promise as that of
her full sister, CH Shady Lawn RRRS Kobe. Kobe was the 2nd place 3 year
old at the National Show. Kiss' granddam is the stunning CH Shady Lawn
High Khaleesi who was 2nd place/1st udder 5 & 6 year old at Nationals
and went on to be named the Premier Youth Senior Doe and the Reserve
Best Udder Recorded Grade at Nationals. On the sire's side she goes back
to SGCH Rockin-CB RZ Haiku, the 2021 National Champion
WOW.....what a difference from the late junior kid to one of the biggest
yearlings in the barn. Kiss is amazing....tall, powerful, level, with
outstanding extension of brisket and amazing width. One judge commented
that there was room enough in her escutcheon to drive a freight train
through! Kiss 3X 1st Jr. Yearling, 1X GCH Jr. Doe and 1X RGCH Jr Doe
this summer.
Although Kiss did not appraise
where we would have liked, she still remains a favorite in the barn. She
excels in dairy strength and body capacity. She is a wide, powerful doe
with beautiful brisket extension and width of chest floor. Despite her
"G" in mammary, this is a very correct mammary with a long
extended fore udder and a high wide rear udder. Yes, she lacks in
capacity but another freshening will take care of that. She was a long
yearling when she freshened with a single kid in January. She held her
own in the show ring standing just behind Dancer in 2 rings.
Kiss will be bred to Jax for February kids. |
