What can I say? I have a
serious buck hoarding problem but this was a "have to have" buck once I
found out he was available. Clarence has been a herdsire at Linden Acres
in MN but with their upcoming retirement he was out of a job.
Clarence has such a stellar
pedigree going back generations with multiple National Show champions
and reserve champions including the 2007 National RGCH, SGCH South-Fork
Charming Cate; the 2005 National Champion, SGCH Kastdemur's Slice,
the 2012 National Champion, SGCH Kastdemur's Avena and the 2008 & 2009
National Champion, SGCH Kastdemur's Evian. Add that to some really
stellar LaMancha sires like Kastdemur's Landslide, Elm*Glen Brazil,
Kastdemur's Watch Yourself, Kastdemur's Vigilante News and South-Fork SK
Class Act....and you have a who's who of the LaMancha breed.
Clarence has sired 69 daughters in the Linden
Acres herd over the past 3 years. His dam is the lovely South-Fork AV
Claire, who is out of South-Fork BD Celebration and sired by Kastdemur's
AV Avalanche, the #1 Elite sire for the last 7 years. Avalanche has
sired multiple SG, SGCH, GCH and CH daughters in the South-Fork herd in
the last few years. Celebration had 3 daughters in the herd all sired by
Avalanche. We would
expect this buck to be an udder and production buck. Clarence was used
quite a bit last fall especially with our later bred does when the rest
of the bucks were done breeding for the season. We ended up with 10 very
lovely daughters and several breeding quality buck kids out of him. All
of the kids were very long, level and smoothly blended. We look forward
to seeing some of these does in milk in the spring and expect to have a
big group of lovely dry yearlings to choose from.
Clarenc will be bred to several of our top does this fall. |
